Unisex AJMAL

Ajmal's story reads like a true family entrepreneurial saga. It begins in Hojai, Assam, India, with Haji Ajmal Ali, who was born into a family of rice farmers. Seeking a better future, he turned his attention to one of the region's most precious natural resources: agarwood and the oud derived from it. In the 1950s, he moved to Mumbai and began building a family fragrance business around his growing knowledge of these valuable materials.

That modest beginning eventually grew into an international enterprise, yet Ajmal's core values remained closely tied to an understanding of raw materials and respect for Eastern perfumery. Later generations of the family expanded the founder's legacy by bringing traditional attar and oud culture into dialogue with contemporary fragrance creation.

Within Ajmal's universe, the East is not merely an aesthetic theme but a lived cultural heritage. Fragrance is connected with memory, family, hospitality and identity. This multigenerational history gives the house a depth and authenticity that cannot be manufactured through branding alone.
