CoSTUME NATIONAL

CoSTUME NATIONAL is an Italian avant-garde fashion house founded in Milan in 1986 by brothers Ennio and Carlo Capasa. Japan played an important role in Ennio's creative development: as a young designer, he worked with Yohji Yamamoto in Tokyo, absorbing Japanese minimalism, dark palettes and unconventional approaches to silhouette. Returning to Italy, he and his brother combined this discipline with Italian materials, tailoring and a more sensual fashion attitude.

CoSTUME NATIONAL has always carried a rebellious edge. Black, clean lines, sharp tailoring and rock'n'roll energy became part of its recognizable language. The house sits between minimalism and rock luxury, belonging fully to neither traditional Italian glamour nor austere Japanese avant-garde.
