ESTEE LAUDER

In 1964, a small workshop was opened in a modest private house on the outskirts of New York, owned by the married couple Estée and Joseph Lauder. Joseph would sterilize glass jars with steam, which were then filled using a measuring spoon with creams prepared according to his wife’s recipes.

The foundation of the fragrance collection was laid in 1953 with the launch of the “Youth-Dew” bath oil, which at the same time also served as a feminine, seductive, and exceptionally long-lasting perfume.

Over the course of 50 years, this family business grew into the large cosmetics and fragrance corporation Estée Lauder.
