Eyes GOSH COPENHAGEN

The history of GOSH Copenhagen stretches much further back than its colorful modern makeup image might suggest. The foundations were laid in Denmark on January 2, 1945, when the young Einar Tjellesen established Brdr. Tjellesen. He initially worked in pharmaceutical wholesaling before expanding into toiletries and beauty. The next generation, led by his son Bo, wanted to move beyond distributing other companies' products and build a beauty brand of its own. Even the name GOSH emerged unexpectedly from a short word Einar encountered in a crossword puzzle, with the brand officially established in 1974.

During the 1970s and 1980s, GOSH moved increasingly from fragrance toward color cosmetics and developed the youthful, experimental personality associated with it today. Scandinavian simplicity meets strong color, beauty trends and the freedom to experiment. Despite growing internationally, GOSH Copenhagen continues to emphasize its Danish roots and local production culture. Beauty in the GOSH universe is not an overly serious ceremony; it is a creative form of play combining Scandinavian practicality, color and individuality.
