Women's fragrances LABORATORIO OLFATTIVO

At LABORATORIO OLFATTIVO, experimentation matters more than following a predetermined formula. A journey, an unexpected encounter, a particular raw material or a personal memory may become the starting point for a new composition. The Italian house was founded in 2009 by Daniela Caon and Roberto Drago as a creative project devoted entirely to artistic perfumery.

Roberto Drago acts as Creative Director, yet the aim is not to force every fragrance into one recognizable formula. He develops the initial concept and invites Italian and international perfumers to interpret it with considerable creative freedom. Each perfumer can therefore preserve an individual voice, turning the house into a meeting place for different approaches to contemporary scent creation.

This freedom explains why the olfactory palette cannot be reduced to a single fragrance family. Transparent citrus and green structures can give way to florals, vetiver, woods, patchouli, vanilla, resins, musks and darker, more intense textures. Rather than repeating the same materials, LABORATORIO OLFATTIVO looks for character, elegance and a distinctive identity in each composition.

The fragrances are conceived as emotional experiences. Notes and accords are only part of the process; memories of travel, fragments of lived experience and visual impressions are equally important. A noticeable trail is intentional, with compositions designed to evolve gradually on the skin and maintain a strong presence as they develop.

Daniela Caon shapes the visual identity, overseeing everything from color associations to bottle design, packaging and materials. LABORATORIO OLFATTIVO therefore operates much like its name suggests: a creative laboratory where perfumer freedom, research into materials, Italian aesthetic sensibility and meticulous design come together not to reproduce a successful formula, but to give every new idea a personality of its own.
