LALIQUE

Long before LALIQUE created fragrances under its own name, it had already transformed the way perfume was presented. In 1907, René Lalique began collaborating with perfumer François Coty, helping turn the fragrance bottle from simple packaging into an integral part of the artistic experience. The meeting of scent, glass and decorative design became highly influential in the development of modern perfume presentation.

Nature, the feminine form, plants and animals were recurring subjects throughout René Lalique's work, translated into glass through relief, transparency and light. His evolution from Art Nouveau to Art Deco later became an important foundation for the visual language of LALIQUE perfumery. The Alsatian manufacture established at Wingen-sur-Moder in 1922 remains the house's only crystal factory today.

A new chapter began in 1992, when René Lalique's granddaughter Marie-Claude Lalique introduced the house's first fragrance line under its own name. She continued the family belief that scent and bottle should form a complete creative object. In the years that followed, limited crystal editions became one of LALIQUE's most distinctive traditions, bringing fine fragrance and collectible decorative art together.

The house is not confined to one fixed olfactory style. Floral and powdery softness, citrus freshness, woods, vetiver, resins, musk, vanilla and amber-like warmth coexist with darker and more intense structures. Exceptional materials and collaborations with a wide range of accomplished perfumers allow individual creations to maintain distinct personalities rather than follow a single repeated formula.

The fragrance identity of LALIQUE is ultimately shaped by the dialogue between scent and object. Light, crystal, meticulous decorative craftsmanship and expressive perfume materials create a universe in which the vessel carries almost as much meaning as what it contains. More than a century of glassmaking heritage thus continues naturally through the house's contemporary approach to fine perfumery.
