LANCOME

For LANCÔME, French elegance has always been connected not only with beauty, but also with emotion, travel and the power of fragrance to preserve memories. Armand Petitjean founded the house in 1935 with the ambition of presenting his own vision of French luxury to the world. That same year, he introduced five fragrances at the Brussels World's Fair, making perfumery the very first creative foundation of Lancôme.

The rose quickly became one of the house's most important symbols. Petitjean had a particular passion for the flower, and it continues to occupy a central place in Lancôme's fragrance culture today. At its own Domaine de la Rose in Grasse, the brand cultivates centifolia rose alongside other aromatic plants while helping preserve the region's natural and perfumery heritage.

Lancôme's interpretation of femininity has evolved continuously, moving from classical floral elegance toward brighter, freer and more sensual expressions. Rose, jasmine, iris and white florals frequently meet fruits, woods, musk, vanilla and patchouli. What remains important is not only the structure of the composition, but also the emotional impression the fragrance creates.

In 1964, LANCÔME became part of L'Oréal, opening a new phase of international expansion. Fragrance remained central to the house's idea of luxury, bringing together French tradition, an enduring interest in natural raw materials and contemporary perfume-making technologies.

Today, LANCÔME continues to build on principles established in 1935: French refinement, a distinctive relationship with the rose and the desire to communicate emotion through scent. Its heritage is continually renewed through the exploration of natural materials, preservation of Grasse perfume culture and a modern approach to fragrance creation.
