LE LABO

Le Labo was created in 2006 by two friends who opened their first laboratory at 233 Elizabeth Street in New York's Nolita neighborhood. The brand summarizes its origins with the phrase “Born in Grasse. Raised in NYC.” Its founding idea was a rebellion against the increasing conformity of commercial perfumery, bringing attention back to raw materials, craftsmanship and human connection.

The Le Labo retail experience deliberately resembles a working laboratory or apothecary rather than a conventional luxury boutique. Handcraft, personalized labels, respect for material provenance and a wabi-sabi-influenced appreciation of imperfection helped the brand establish a new language of urban niche luxury: industrial, minimal, soulful and unmistakably New York.
