Maison Crivelli

An unexpected encounter with a fragrance material can become the starting point for an entire composition — this is the idea at the heart of MAISON CRIVELLI. Paris-born Thibaud Crivelli grew up between central France and Provence before moving to China in 2006, spending the following decade in different parts of Asia. Those years immersed him in plants, spices and perfume materials and shaped his highly observant, multisensory relationship with nature. Maison Crivelli was founded in 2018.

Thibaud Crivelli's creative world begins with real but unexpected experiences. Mist-covered saffron fields, exotic fruit encountered in lush forests, spice markets, scorched wood or a sudden change of landscape become emotional memories that later turn into fragrance concepts. Rather than simply reproducing a place, the Maison aims to communicate the sensation created by that experience through an interplay of colour, sound, taste, texture and scent.

One of the house's defining principles is the art of the unexpected. Familiar fragrance materials are deliberately brought together through unusual contrasts, resulting in floral, woody, spicy, leathery, musky, fruity and darker oriental structures. The compositions are designed to evolve on the skin, revealing different facets over time and maintaining the sense of a living, constantly changing olfactory experience.

For every creation, Thibaud Crivelli collaborates with different experienced perfumers. Each project begins with a multisensory creative brief using words, images and sounds to communicate the original experience he wants to share. Perfumers then develop and refine several interpretations until the final formula is selected, a process that can take anywhere from several months to two years.

Today, MAISON CRIVELLI represents a contemporary approach to fine perfumery in which luxury is defined not only by the quality of materials, but by the strength and originality of the creative idea. The house states that its formulas are made without phthalates or colourants, that its perfume extracts contain no animal-derived materials, and that its products are not tested on animals. The result is an expressive, sensorial universe where travel, nature, memory and unexpected contrasts become modern fragrance stories.
