MAISON MARGIELA

Maison Margiela was founded in Paris in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela. From the beginning, the house was built around nonconformity, anonymity and the subversion of established fashion conventions. Margiela explored internal garment construction, recycling, the transformation of existing objects and the question of what fashion becomes when the cult of designer personality is removed. White, anonymous labels and deconstruction became important codes of the contemporary avant-garde.

In fragrance, this philosophy became an exploration of memory. A concept developed particularly from 2012 uses scent to reconstruct the atmosphere of familiar moments, places and sensations, almost as if reproducing an existing object or lived experience. Perfume therefore functions less as decoration and more as memory design. The Maison's minimalist, genderless and conceptual aesthetic remains clearly visible, transforming ordinary moments into material for luxury.
