ORTO PARISI

For Orto Parisi, the human body and nature are inseparable. Its creator, Italian perfumer Alessandro Gualtieri, treats scent as an expression of instinct, physical presence, and the deeper self—something that may be beautiful or raw, but should always feel alive and authentic.

Launched in 2014, the project was dedicated to Gualtieri’s grandfather, Vincenzo Parisi. Childhood memories of his garden, soil, and powerful natural smells later became central to the philosophy of the house. Even the name reflects this connection: “orto” means garden, while Parisi comes from his grandfather’s surname.

Orto Parisi compositions are often dense, powerful, and unconventional. Earthy, woody, smoky, leathery, animalic, and musky facets may be contrasted with green, marine, spicy, or sweeter nuances. Gualtieri generally avoids defining his work through detailed note lists, allowing the wearer’s own perception to become part of the experience.

Most of the fragrances have a unisex character and are known for their strong presence and lasting trail. The heavy glass bottles and distinctive sculptural caps further reinforce the individual personality of each creation.
