PACO RABANNE

The Paco Rabanne Maison emerged in 1960s Paris, when a younger generation of designers was beginning to challenge the conventions of haute couture. Its first show, presented at the Hôtel George V on February 1, 1966, functioned almost as a manifesto: instead of conventional fabric, Rabanne worked with rhodoid, metal discs and rings, transforming clothing into something closer to industrial design or architecture. This experimentation with material became a defining house code, connecting fashion with technology, futurism and cultural provocation.

Fragrance and beauty later became natural extensions of the same rebellious universe. The Maison currently describes itself through ideas of audacity, avant-garde thinking and provocation, emphasizing a desire to break established codes in both fashion and scent. The house now officially uses the shorter name Rabanne, while Paco Rabanne's original futuristic vision remains central to its identity.
