Thierry Mugler’s first collection had only one customer — Thierry himself. He made clothes for himself that he wanted to wear and designed them on his own. He was 19 at the time. One day, in a fashionable Paris café frequented by an elegant and refined crowd, people noticed the young man’s unusual wardrobe and asked to see his sketches. This is how the fate of a future style icon was decided.

The first THIERRY MUGLER boutique was opened in 1914, and soon its clients became major film and music stars.
