The creative world of V Canto begins with the fifth canto of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy and the tragic love story of Paolo and Francesca. The Italian niche house is closely connected with Gradara Castle, an area where the Terenzi family has lived for more than 700 years. Its legends, medieval atmosphere, and history provide the foundation for the brand’s olfactory universe.

Created by Paolo and Tiziana Terenzi, V Canto introduced its first fragrances in 2015. Their idea was to translate themes of love, passion, sin, virtue, and human contradiction from Dante’s poetry into scent, giving each composition the character of an emotional narrative.

The house moves from fruity and floral brightness to woods, amber, musk, spices, and oud. Some creations feel deep and mysterious, while others explore softer or fresher territory, yet the collection generally maintains an expressive and dramatic personality.

The storytelling continues through the bottles. Their curved silhouette is intended to evoke the female body, while the substantial metal cap references a knight’s helmet and shield. Presentation and fragrance therefore work together to recreate an atmosphere of medieval romance, strength, and passion.

V Canto brings Italian niche perfumery together with literature and a strong sense of personal roots. Dante’s poetry, the legends of Gradara, and the Terenzi family heritage give the house its rich, sensual, and unmistakably theatrical identity.
