Jan Wilhelm Algren is Swiss by birth, but after graduating from the Swiss School of Art he moved to Paris, the world capital of art and fashion. There he devoted himself entirely to haute couture, becoming a well-known and in-demand designer and the founder of the niche brand Vilhelm Parfumerie. By creating his own style and developing within the fashion industry, Jan Wilhelm Algren later moved to New York, where he fully discovered his calling and met his destiny.

One day, while creating leather accessories for his ready-to-wear collection, he decided to scent them, as it had been done centuries ago. To bring this idea to life, he turned to the renowned perfumer Jérôme Epinette. Their creative collaboration resulted not only in leather-inspired fragrances, but also in an entire remarkable perfume collection presented to the world.
