At one point, Abdullah realized that customers were interested not only in raw incense materials but also in perfumes created from them. He then began sourcing raw materials for perfumery from France and other countries. This approach allowed the brand to enrich traditional Arabian scents with new ingredients familiar to Western consumers, resulting in truly unique fragrance compositions that quickly gained popularity among both European and regional audiences.
During the process of developing their own perfumes, Abdullah’s family maintained close relationships with renowned European perfume houses. They exchanged knowledge and expertise—introducing Western perfumers to the value and distinctive character of oud, while in return learning about the latest global trends and the most sought-after ingredients in modern perfumery.
This collaboration helped the company establish its own unique niche. Today, Ajmal Perfumery is recognized as a fragrance house that embodies an “ethnic chic” style, blending rich Eastern heritage with contemporary Western sophistication.
