Daphne Bugey, a perfumer at Firmenich, always knew she was destined to create fragrances. Her passion for perfume began at the age of 10, and nothing has distracted her from this path since. Her mantra is: “to experience everything, feel everything, so I can create from a place of freedom.”
Daphne is not only a perfumer but also a free spirit who loves exploring the world. She enjoys kitesurfing and paragliding, embracing the power of the wind and the sensation of flight. Constantly on the move, she travels across continents to explore nature, spirituality, and contemporary art.
During a year-long break, she immersed herself in different cultures and experiences, including meditating in Nepal, working on an organic farm in Japan, studying Ayurveda in India, and learning her native language in Italy. She also spent time at Fabrica and the Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art.
Daphne believes her approach to life and creativity leans toward a “rational excess,” and she has no desire to change her habits. Her constant curiosity and desire to learn have helped her create remarkable compositions that are spontaneous, bold, and free.
Her creations, including Kenzo Amour, Aura Mugler, Scandal and Scandal By Night by Jean Paul Gaultier, and K by Dolce & Gabbana, are widely appreciated. Her perfumery perfectly reflects her personality—a free spirit who wants to experience everything.
