Elise Benat is a perfumer at Firmenich. She was born and raised in the south of France, surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, maquis, myrtle, and salt. She recalls these scents with admiration. In her teenage years, Elise traveled to various exotic parts of the world, which later influenced her work in creating refined and unique fragrances.
Elise discovered her passion for perfumery while studying chemistry during her first year of fragrance training. She describes it as a true revelation, and from that moment she was determined to pursue a career in perfumery. Her dream became reality when she joined the Firmenich team.
For Elise, creating fragrances is like photography, as she perceives scents as images. She draws inspiration from art and literature and enjoys translating words into fragrances. As she says, when I create, I see images. Like a photographer, I imagine scents as pictures.
Beyond perfumery, Elise loves reading and finds comfort in literature. Her experiences and passions have greatly contributed to her success, and her creations continue to amaze and delight the fragrance industry.
Elise Benat has created fragrances for many brands, including 4711, Amouage, Angel Schlesser, David Beckham, Faberlic, Fragrance One, Jil Sander, M.INT, Maison Matine, Monart Parfums, Oriflame, RE CLASSIFIED, Rituals, Roger & Gallet, Roos & Roos, Scent Hunters, Scorpio, and Tous.
