Fanny Bal was born in Lyon. She studied at ISIPCA and later continued her education in New York at the IFF fragrance school.

Fanny Bal worked as a perfumer for Fragrance Frederic Malle. She is described as a true force of nature and was the ideal candidate to create a children’s fragrance that required freshness, curiosity, and an adventurous youthful spirit.

In 2018, Fanny Bal received the Rising Star Award in the Beauty and Fragrance category from The Fashion Group International, a non-profit organization.

She has created compositions for both luxury and niche brands, including Frederic Malle, Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, and Paco Rabanne. Her recent work also includes a fragrance for Oriflame.
