Francoise Caron

Françoise Caron is a well-known perfumer born in 1949 in Grasse, France. She was born into a family involved in trading raw materials for perfumery and developed an early passion for the world of fragrances. After completing her secondary education, she joined the Roure Bertrand Dupont perfumery school in Grasse, where she studied the traditional Grasse method for many years.

Françoise was one of the few women in the perfumery industry at that time and worked hard to gain recognition for her talent. In 1975, she moved to Paris to work at Roure, which later became Givaudan Roure in 1991. Over the years, she refined her skills and created fragrances for some of the biggest players in the industry. She is the sister of perfumer Olivier Cresp.

Throughout her career, Françoise has worked with many major fragrance houses and brands, including Armand Basi, Astier de Villatte, Azzaro, Balenciaga, Caron, Caudalie, Christian Lacroix, Comme des Garcons, Davidoff, Emanuel Ungaro, Escada, Giorgio Armani, Hermès, Kenzo, Mugler, Valentino, Versace, and Yves Rocher.

She has created numerous popular fragrances that have become globally recognized. Some of her most famous compositions include Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile, Jean Charles Brosseau Ombre Rose L’Original, Giorgio Armani Gio, and Valentino Rock’n Rose.

Despite her achievements, Françoise remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She is known for her attention to detail and her ability to capture the essence of nature in her fragrances. Her passion has earned her great respect, and she continues to inspire the next generation of perfumers. Today, she works at Takasago.
