Gerald Ghislain is a well-known perfumer recognized for his innovative and unconventional approach to fragrance creation. Born and raised in the south of France and Morocco, his passion for sensual pleasures first led him into the gourmet industry, where he studied to become a restaurateur and hotel manager. However, his love for scents ultimately brought him into the world of perfumery.
Following his passion, Ghislain enrolled in a master’s program at the prestigious ISIPCA in Versailles, where he refined his skills and developed his unique style. In 2000, he founded Histoires de Parfums, a fragrance house that quickly gained international recognition for its bold and unconventional compositions.
As the creative force behind Histoires de Parfums, Ghislain positioned himself outside mainstream perfumery constraints, allowing his imagination free rein. His creations range from soft and beautiful scents to wild, animalic, gourmand, and openly sensual compositions.
His childhood spent traveling around the world influenced his work, and spicy notes such as cardamom, cumin, clove, and cinnamon often appear in his fragrances, giving them a distinctive vibrancy and character.
Ghislain’s talent and dedication have earned him a reputation as one of the most innovative perfumers working today. His fragrances continue to surprise and delight, and his refusal to conform ensures that each creation remains unpredictable. For Gérald Ghislain, gourmet pleasures and the enjoyment of scent are deeply intertwined, and his work reflects this fusion of passions.
