Honorine Blanc is a master perfumer at Firmenich, known for her ability to create fragrances that feel both incomplete and alluring, filled with new ideas, tension, and emotion. For her, perfumery is not just a profession but a form of artistic expression.
She says: “Be original. I will never betray myself. My creations are part of me.” Her fragrances reflect her inner strength and artistic sensitivity. She does not only wear her perfumes—she feels them.
Born in Beirut, she was shaped by the city’s dynamic and refined culture. She later studied in Paris, where she first discovered the world of perfumery. An opportunity to work under master perfumer Sophia Grojsman led her to New York, where she lives and works today.
Her personal life is as rich as her professional one. She enjoys solitude to gather her thoughts and connect with the world around her. She finds comfort in books, sailing, and art. Her reading is eclectic, ranging from Stefan Zweig to Khalil Gibran. She is passionate about sailing and feels completely free at sea.
She also draws inspiration from the world’s greatest museums, especially the works of Gerhard Richter and female nude paintings, which deeply move her.
In her work, she is a perfectionist. She aims to create fragrances that feel both incomplete and captivating, filled with tension, emotion, and new ideas. She seeks to express what only perfumery can communicate—simple structural clarity layered with unexpected sensuality and addiction.
Her approach is free from rules and limitations. She thrives on risk-taking and new expression, believing that this is when she is most creative. She has worked with brands such as Gucci, Ralph Lauren, and Yves Saint Laurent. Her most popular creations include Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium, Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy Gold Couture, and Lancôme La Nuit Trésor à la Folie.
For Honorine Blanc, perfumery is not only an art form but also a way of self-expression—an extension of her personality, vision, and emotional depth.
