Ilias Ermenidis is a renowned perfumer known for his unique mastery in fragrance creation. He was born in Constantinople, spent his childhood there, and later moved to Athens. His interest in perfumery began during summer internships at his father’s fragrance and flavor factory in Istanbul. This passion led him to Paris, where he studied perfumery at the prestigious ISIPCA school.

Ermenidis was the first trainee perfumer hired by Firmenich. He is proud of this fact and continues to work there, describing the company as a “resident artist.” He has lived in several countries, including Paris and Geneva for about 10 years, before moving to New York, where he worked for 25 years before returning to Paris in 2019.

He is a dedicated perfumer who also values family and fatherhood. He is a warm, generous, and extroverted person who enjoys intellectual exploration. His multicultural background gave him strong linguistic skills, and his Greek heritage is reflected in his creations.

His creative process is inspired by art and opera, and he enjoys working with abstract forms in perfumery. He believes fragrance creation is a magical moment, but requires teamwork to bring it to life. His work combines talent, technique, perseverance, and luck.

Throughout his career, he has worked with major brands including Gucci, Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, and Vera Wang. His notable creations include Gucci by Gucci Eau de Parfum, Vera Wang Princess, and Givenchy Pour Homme.

Despite his success, he remains humble and continuously seeks new creative horizons.
