Jerome di Marino is a perfumer recognized in the fragrance industry for his creative approach and technical expertise.
He currently works at Mane, one of the leading fragrance and flavor companies in the world. Previously, he worked at Takasago International Corporation, where he was mentored by master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian.
Di Marino grew up in Nice, near Grasse, the world’s perfume capital. As a child, he was interested in art and had a talent for drawing. However, he chose to study science, aiming to work on the synthesis of aromatic and flavor raw materials. During this time, he discovered perfumery and fell in love with the profession.
After a two-year internship at Givaudan, he spent a year in the olfactory evaluation department at Givenchy Parfums. There, he built valuable connections in the industry and eventually joined the trainee perfumer program at Takasago.
Under the guidance of Francis Kurkdjian, he learned the importance of conveying strong messages through concise formulas and gained insights on handling competition, failure, and communicating fragrances in the age of social media.
Throughout his career, Di Marino has created many notable fragrances, including Kenzo World Power, Elie Saab Le Parfum in White, and Burberry Her Elixir de Parfum. He is particularly proud of Mr. Burberry Element, which features some of his favorite raw materials and contrasting mossy notes.
In addition to Mane and Takasago International Corporation, he has collaborated with brands such as Burberry, Paco Rabanne, and Ted Lapidus.
He believes that the perfumer plays a central role in fragrance creation and that it is essential to give them the freedom to express their ideas and talent, as well as recognition by signing their name to their creations.
