Julie Masse is a talented perfumer known for her creative approach, passion for fragrances, and personal warmth. She was born in Tokyo and lived there until the age of five, then moved to France, where her deep love for perfumery developed. Julie's father has roots in Grasse and studied at the Roure perfumery school.
Julie pursued her passion for scents by studying chemistry and perfumery at the ISIPCA perfumery school in Versailles. After graduating, she began her internship at Fragrance Resources as a quality controller in Grasse. While working there, she met her mentor Pierre Bourdon, who taught her the traditional Jean Carle method of perfumery and encouraged her creative abilities.
Julie's talent and hard work paid off, and she soon joined the French fragrance creation team at Fragrance Resources. She then moved to MANE, where she worked with renowned perfumers such as Christine Nagel and Cecile Matton on fragrances for Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, and other famous brands.
In 2012, Dom De Vetta, founder of Shay & Blue, approached Julie to create the brand's six initial fragrances. Her innovative and accessible scents were a hit, and she quickly became a star in the perfume world. Today, she is the perfumer for Shay & Blue and continues to create fragrances that are both familiar and interestingly different. Julie finds inspiration in visual arts, architecture, food, and encounters with other people. Some of her most popular works include Si Passione and Si Fiori for Giorgio Armani, Passeggiata In Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II for Trussardi, and Salt Caramel for Shay & Blue London.
