Laurent Le Guernec, a Paris-born perfumer, has significantly influenced the world of fragrance by skillfully blending his passion for detail and knowledge of classical French perfumery with a modern American approach. His unique approach to perfume creation and his ability to work with floral notes have earned him worldwide recognition and a reputation as a master of floral scents.
Born in January 1967 near Paris, Laurent Le Guernec spent part of his childhood in Grasse, the capital of the world's perfume industry. He recalls that his mother and grandmother often wore perfume, and he was surrounded by beautiful fragrance bottles. While studying chemistry at the University of Paris, he learned about the prestigious ISIPCA in Versailles, France. Inspired by his grandfather, a craftsman and artist, Laurent decided to dedicate his career to perfumery.
During his studies at ISIPCA, Le Guernec worked at Laboratoire Monique Remy in Grasse, a leading producer of natural raw materials in the industry. This opportunity allowed him to master the use of natural raw materials, especially floral notes. In 1991, he moved to the United States to work at Fragrance Resources, where he gained invaluable experience working alongside leading perfumer Pierre Bourdon. His other notable mentor is Givaudan master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena.
Laurent Le Guernec believes that perfume is a medium that helps consumers achieve their deepest desires for eternal youth and sensuality. He continuously seeks new sensations, as senses feed the soul and the soul allows us to appreciate the senses. Through his exceptional skill and artistry, Laurent continues to create captivating fragrances that resonate with audiences worldwide.
