Michel Girard, born in 1957, was always destined for a career in the world of perfumery. Raised in Grasse, the world-renowned French capital of perfume, Michel was surrounded by the enchanting scents of flowers and a rich history of fragrance creation. In 1974, he graduated from the Lycée Fénelon in Grasse, where he developed his passion for aromas and began his journey toward becoming a renowned perfumer.
Before joining Givaudan in 1998, Michel gained invaluable experience working for several companies, including Robertet. In 1986, he joined Quest International, earning the title of Senior Perfumer. His exceptional talent led to collaborations with prestigious brands such as Givenchy, Gucci, Jennifer Lopez, and Valentino. His inspirations are deeply rooted in his personal history and the global experience gained during his travels.
Throughout his illustrious career, Michel Girard has created numerous iconic fragrances. Among his most notable works are Baby Touch and Touch For Women by Burberry, Extravagance d'Amarige by Givenchy, and Cerruti 1881 Black For Men. However, one of his most significant achievements was his key role in developing the iconic men's fragrance 1 Million for Paco Rabanne. Today, Michel Girard is recognized as a third-generation perfumer who continues to create extraordinary scents that stand the test of time.
