Thomas Fontaine is a Parisian perfumer renowned for his success in reviving heritage fragrance brands. He studied perfumery at the famous ISIPCA Academy in Versailles, laying the foundation for his future accomplishments in the industry.
Fontaine's career gained momentum while working for leading fragrance companies such as Mane, Charabot, and Technico Flor. He quickly became recognized for his unique ability to restore historic brands, including Lubin, Grès, Jean Patou, Worth, and Jean-Louis Scherrer. Notable creations include Black Jade for Lubin and Cabotine Floralisme for Grès. As an "olfactory archaeologist," he excels at adapting legendary scents of the past to modern standards by introducing original contemporary accords.
Fontaine finds inspiration in culinary delights, history, and his love for classical music and baritone singing. His favorite scents include iris, rose, patchouli, sandalwood, and galbanum. Currently serving as the in-house perfumer for Designer Parfums, he focuses on restoring the former glory of the once-iconic Jean Patou brand, bridging the gap between the old and the new.
