Born in a small village in the French Alps, Veronique Nyberg inherited her passion for plants from her grandmother, who was a botanist. Surrounded by the scents of wildflowers and the natural beauty of the environment, Veronique chose to study science and eventually earned a PhD in organic chemistry.
Veronique's journey into the world of perfumery began as an intern in Grasse, where she worked as a raw materials quality controller. Although she dreamed of becoming a perfumer, she lacked the necessary training and decided to complete her doctoral thesis first. Fate intervened when she joined the Dutch branch of IFF as a chemist. Her subsequent training at IFF opened doors to operational perfumery, and she was selected to study at the IFF perfumery school in Grasse.
During her time at the school, Veronique immersed herself in the world of perfumery, learning to extract absolutes and work with raw materials. Upon returning to Paris, she completed her training under the guidance of the renowned perfumer Dominique Ropion.
Veronique Nyberg’s approach to fragrance creation is defined by her passion for art, culinary skills, and cultural fusion. A self-taught cook, she experiments with bold flavor combinations, often drawing inspiration from working with IFF flavorists. This collaboration has led to her discovery of unusual pairings, such as the use of sandalwood in lichen-based harmonies.
