Coach is a historic American leather house founded in New York in 1941 by six artisans. Their original ambition was straightforward: to transform leather into beautiful, clever and practical objects made to last. Under the later vision of Miles and Lillian Cahn, the small workshop developed into one of the best-known names in American leather craftsmanship.

The arrival of designer Bonnie Cashin in the 1960s introduced more color, freedom and contemporary New York energy to Coach. Her approach helped turn leather accessories into part of the lifestyle of a modern, independent and mobile generation. Over the following decades, Coach evolved from a family-run leather company into a global fashion house while continuing to celebrate its identity as the Original American House of Leather.
