Coach is a historic American leather house founded in New York in 1941 by six artisans. Their original ambition was straightforward: to transform leather into beautiful, clever and practical objects made to last. Under the later vision of Miles and Lillian Cahn, the small workshop developed into one of the best-known names in American leather craftsmanship.

The arrival of designer Bonnie Cashin in the 1960s introduced more color, freedom and contemporary New York energy to Coach.
