ETIENNE AIGNER

The AIGNER story begins with Hungarian-born designer Etienne Aigner, who gained recognition in the Paris haute couture world during the 1930s as a specialist in leather bags and accessories. After the Second World War, he produced leather goods for prestigious fashion houses and later brought his work to New York. One of his most recognizable design signatures became the “A” monogram shaped like a horseshoe, reflecting the equestrian associations that would remain part of the brand's identity.

In 1965, Etienne Aigner and businessman Heiner H. Rankl established the European AIGNER company in Munich. Parisian leather craftsmanship was combined with German structure and Italian manufacturing traditions. Rich dark red leather, equestrian symbolism and timeless elegance became important house codes. Its fragrance direction extends the same universe into scent, offering a polished and distinctly European interpretation of classic luxury.
