EX NIHILO

EX NIHILO is a contemporary Parisian niche fragrance house founded in 2013 by Sylvie Loday, Olivier Royère and Benoît Verdier. The Latin phrase ex nihilo means “from nothing,” and that idea became central to the founders' philosophy. They had no centuries-old family archive or historic formulas to obey, so they turned the absence of inherited tradition into a creative advantage and built a deliberately modern Parisian Maison.

The EX NIHILO universe brings together French haute parfumerie, contemporary art, design and technology. Different perfumers are given creative carte blanche, allowing the brand to favor collaboration rather than organize itself around one permanent in-house author. Precision personalization technology is also part of its boutique experience, enabling selected compositions to be adjusted in subtle ways.

EX NIHILO represents a new generation of Parisian luxury defined not by inherited aristocracy but by creative freedom, architectural clarity and innovation. Its personality is urban, polished and slightly futuristic. The house respects the technical mastery of French perfumery while refusing simply to reproduce its past.
