Gucci, by product volume in the fashion industry, is considered the second largest brand in the world. The company was founded in 1904 in Florence. The future designer worked for some time as a maître d’hôtel at London’s Savoy Hotel, where he became fascinated by the guests’ bags and suitcases, impressed by their variety and elegance.

Returning to his homeland, Italy, he opened a leather workshop where he made saddles, riding boots, and suitcases. In 1938, Gucci opened his flagship store in Rome. Soon after, the brand introduced iconic creations such as bamboo-handled handbags, ribbon-adorned pieces, and suede moccasins with metal details.

Later, when Gucci’s sons took over the business, they created the famous GG logo, as well as the beloved Flora silk scarf inspired by Grace Kelly, and the Jackie O shoulder bag, which was famously worn by Jacqueline Kennedy.
