Niche Perfume ISABEY PARIS

Isabey Paris is a historic French haute perfumery Maison founded in Paris in 1924. Its creation was supported by Baron Henri James de Rothschild, a physician, playwright, philanthropist and patron of the arts. On March 5, 1924, his support led to the establishment of the Société Parisienne d’Essences Rares & de Parfums, while the name Isabey was chosen in tribute to celebrated French artist Jean-Baptiste Isabey. From the beginning, the house positioned fragrance as part of French art and art de vivre.

The Maison emerged during one of Paris's most culturally vibrant periods — the age of Art Deco, artistic experimentation, modern fashion and changing ideas of femininity. At the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative Arts in Paris, Isabey received a gold medal, while notable glassmakers and decorative artists contributed to its elaborate presentation. Perfume was therefore conceived not simply as an olfactory formula but as a collectible object positioned between jewelry, artistic glass and haute parfumerie.

The house's activity was interrupted during the twentieth century, but Panouge Group acquired Isabey in 1999 and began a new chapter in its history. Under the contemporary creative direction of Rania Naim, codes from the 1920s are reinterpreted for modern niche perfumery while historic bottle forms, Art Deco refinement and distinctly French femininity remain important references. The fascination of Isabey Paris lies precisely in this dialogue between authentic vintage Paris and contemporary haute parfumerie.
