John Varvatos is an American menswear brand founded by designer John Varvatos in late 1999 after years of experience leading menswear design at Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. The first full collection appeared in 2000. Varvatos grew up with the cultural influence of Detroit, and music — particularly rock'n'roll — became a fundamental part of his visual language. The John Varvatos man therefore combines classical tailoring with a more worn-in, relaxed and musical attitude.

The relationship with rock culture goes far beyond advertising. In 2008, Varvatos opened a store at 315 Bowery in New York, the former home of legendary music club CBGB, preserving elements of its musical history and continuing to use the space for cultural events. The fragrance direction developed from 2004 and translates the same rugged sophistication into scent through craftsmanship, tactile materials and relaxed masculine elegance.
