JOVOY PARIS

The story of JOVOY PARIS unfolds between two eras: the exuberant freedom of 1920s Paris and contemporary artistic perfumery. The original house was founded in 1923 by Blanche Arvoy, then gradually disappeared from the fragrance landscape for decades. In 2010, François Hénin brought the name back to life, choosing not to reproduce the past literally but to reinterpret its independent spirit for a modern audience.

Hénin's path into fragrance was shaped by direct experience with raw materials. Years of travel took him into the forests of Vietnam and later through Grasse, giving him an unusually hands-on understanding of fragrant materials and their origins. That experience still informs JOVOY's fascination with distinctive ingredients, discovery and perfumes built around strong material character.

There is no single compulsory olfactory signature. Woods, spices, florals, resins, musks, amber-like textures, leather and sweeter facets can appear in compositions ranging from restrained to richly expressive. What connects them is less a repeated formula than a clear narrative idea: each fragrance is intended to grow from an encounter, experience or personal memory.

François Hénin acts as Artistic Director while individual fragrances are developed with independent perfumers. Each perfumer is given room for personal interpretation, but the finished composition must remain faithful to the original vision and emotional promise. This collaborative model allows JOVOY to move through different styles and creative voices without losing its broader identity.

Modern JOVOY PARIS is ultimately driven by rarity, discovery and an independent point of view. Parisian heritage, Hénin's experience with materials and travel, and collaboration with diverse perfumers create a fragrance universe that favors character over conformity — rich, exploratory and designed to leave a memorable impression rather than simply follow prevailing trends.
