PAUL EMILIEN

For Paul Emilien, perfumery developed as a natural extension of artistic expression. Brand creator Paul Mathieu, born in the Cévennes region of France, was drawn to drawing and painting from an early age. He later brought the same creative instinct into fragrance, teaching himself the craft and developing his first compositions in a small laboratory at home.

Travel and encounters with different cultures gradually broadened his olfactory perspective. Paul Emilien introduced its first fragrance collection in 2014, combining French fine-perfumery traditions with carefully considered materials and a strong sense of harmony.

The house is characterized by a natural, refined style. Florals, citrus, spices, woods, resins, musk, and amber-like facets are often arranged in layered compositions that unfold gradually rather than relying on excessive intensity or provocation.

Paul Emilien approaches perfume much like an artist approaches a canvas or a musician a score, allowing different accords to create a complete emotional impression. French refinement, a connection with nature, and creative independence give the house its poetic and distinctive personality.
