Jordi Fernandez is a Senior Perfumer at Givaudan, one of the world's leading fragrance and flavor companies. Born and raised in Catalonia, Spain, Jordi became fascinated by the art of perfumery at a young age. Unlike many perfumers who followed the traditional training path at the ISIPCA perfume school in Versailles, Jordi is self-taught.
Jordi began his career at Eurofragrance, a family-owned fragrance company based in Barcelona. There, he quickly proved his talent and creativity, possessing a deep understanding of the science behind fragrance formulation. However, Jordi sought to expand his horizons and work with some of the world's finest luxury brands.
In 2010, Jordi joined Givaudan, where he has since worked with numerous high-end fragrance brands, including Montblanc, Carolina Herrera, Versace, and Dolce Fiore, among others. Jordi's expertise in traditional Middle Eastern perfumery has earned him a reputation as a master of oud and other exotic scents. He spent many years immersing himself in Middle Eastern culture, meeting people and visiting places to deeply understand the region's fragrance preferences and traditions.
Jordi's versatility as a perfumer is evident in his ability to create fragrances across various genres. From minimalism to luxury, his style is multifaceted, and he is equally comfortable creating scents for both men and women. His minimalist style is showcased in Montblanc Explorer, his most popular fragrance to date, which he developed in collaboration with Antoine Maisondieu and Olivier Pescheux. The fragrance is characterized by notes of bergamot, vetiver, and patchouli, and has received widespread acclaim for its sophisticated simplicity.
