David Apel

David Apel, Vice President and Senior Perfumer at Symrise, is an internationally recognized professional in his field. He has created many highly acclaimed fragrances, many of which have received awards from the American and European Fragrance Foundations.

David began his career in 1980 in the perfumery laboratories at Givaudan, where he developed a passion for raw materials and began his journey into the world of perfumery. After internships, studies both locally and abroad, and leading a chromatography laboratory, he became a perfumer.

From 1993 to 1997, David worked in Paris as a fine fragrance perfumer, joining Fragrance Resources and eventually returning to the United States to open their fine fragrance creation center in New York. In 2001, he returned to Givaudan as an executive fine fragrance perfumer, and in 2007 he joined Symrise, bringing with him extensive international experience and a deep passion for creating beautiful, luxurious scents.
